Please take a few seconds to join me, and many thousands of others, in showing our support for quality, affordable afterschool by signing the national petition for Afterschool for All.  This is a serious and urgent issue in our communities today.  Each day, 14 million children are on their own after school -- including 40,000 kindergartners.  These children face great risks.  Meanwhile, kids in afterschool programs are reaping great benefits.  They do better in school, have greater expectations for the future and get the chance to discover new talents, from karate to film-making to mentoring others.
