Funding opp. for young change-makers: Power of Youth Challenge

Are you — or do you know — a young person passionate about making positive change in your communities? If you have an idea for a local service project, consider applying for a grant through the Power of Youth Challenge. Sponsored by the America’s Promise Alliance, Peace First, and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Power of Youth Challenge is committed to empowering young people to become agents of positive change in their communities.

Each team that registers for the Power of Youth Challenge will receive a mini-grant of up to $250 to support their project, along with coaching and support as you develop and execute your project.  (The amount of each grant is determined by project needs.) Teams that complete their projects will be eligible to apply for an accelerator grant of up to $5,000 to grow their project the next year.

The challenge is open to all youth ages 13 – 18.  Project teams are highly encouraged and should be made up of at least 3 young people. All participants are expected to report on project progress. Ready to get started? Applications are accepted now through March 31, 2019.
