Need help navigating funding opps in the new landscape? Check out Children's Funding Project

As the COVID-19 pandemic has spread across the country, response efforts have emerged at varying rates to combat some of the ill effects of shutting down cities and regions nationwide. As our understanding of the pandemic has changed, so too have the nature of these responses – ranging from Congressional relief bills to changes in available funds and allowable uses.

Keeping track of these changes and how it applies to local afterschool programs is a herculean task. The Children’s Funding Project has stepped in to try to make that easier.

The Children’s Funding Project is a social impact organization that uses strategic financing to close equity and opportunity gaps for children and has released a guide on the rapidly changing availability and flexibility of funds. Navigating New and Flexible Funding Streams for Kids during COVID-19 summarizes and explains new funding opportunities as well as new flexibilities in large federal programs because of the pandemic and will be updated as frequently as possible.

The Children’s Funding Project is also seeking examples from states and communities that are creatively serving children and youth. If you have a story to share, please do (and tell us, too!).
