Hundreds Rally to Save After School Programs (NBC Augusta, Georgia)

“What's different about this year's rally is that Abbey and 12 other CLC regulars became the organizers as part of a new Youth Afterschool Ambassador program… They chose speakers, contacted them about attending the event, planned entertainment and wrote their own speeches. They'll be the masters of ceremonies at the rally and introduce speakers, including City Councilman John Spatz and school board member Kathy Danek.”

The Bragg Hill Family Life Center provides afterschool care for local youth, including the son of a family that fled Afghanistan. Fredericksburg Mayor Tom Tomzak spoke about the importance of afterschool programs at the Center’s Lights on Afterschool event.
Party Celebrates Documentary Co-Starring Farmington’s After-School Program (Farmington Observer, Michigan)
As part of this year’s Lights on Afterschool celebration, Bright House Networks aired a documentary on the benefits of afterschool. “After the School Bell Rings” featured personal stories of youth and families across the country, like those in the City of Farmington Hills Youth and Family Service’s afterschool program for middle schoolers.
