The Afterschool Alliance is proud to announce the Afterschool Ambassadors who will work in their local communities and states to increase awareness of the need for afterschool, and to act as a voice for the burgeoning afterschool movement. In the 2007/2008 school year,* these outstanding individuals will build support for afterschool programs by reaching out to decision makers, increasing media and public awareness of the benefits of afterschool, and encouraging allies from the education, business, government, religious and other communities to speak out in support of afterschool.
