In Nevada, the Safekey/Latch Key Programs (established in 1985) serve as before and afterschool recreational enrichment programs for elementary aged children. Although most programs are funded through parent fees, the Welfare Division of the Department of Human Resources provides funding to some before- and afterschool programs in low-income areas and remote locations of the state.
