The Dollar General Afterschool Literacy Award
New American Pathways’ Bright Futures Afterschool Program Received First-Ever Dollar General Afterschool Literacy Award
The Afterschool Alliance and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation presented the first Dollar General Afterschool Literacy Award to the Atlanta-based New American Pathways’ Bright Futures Afterschool Program. The program was honored for its success in building the literacy skills of middle school children at the joint National AfterSchool Association (NAA) annual convention and the Afterschool Alliance Afterschool for All Challenge in Washington, D.C. As the Dollar General Afterschool Literacy Award winner, Bright Futures was awarded $10,000; featured in the issue brief, Building Literacy in Afterschool and presented at the NAA annual convention.
