Quaker Chewy Rocks Afterschool

The Afterschool Alliance is excited to partner with Quaker® Oats to raise awareness about the importance of afterschool programs and the need to provide afterschool opportunities to all kids.

Congratulations the winners of the private performance by Miranda Cosgrove in Plano, Texas as part of the Quaker Chewy Afterschool Rocks campaign.

Here are some more highlights from the Quaker Chewy "Afterschool Rocks" campaign:

  • In May, Miranda Cosgrove performed songs from her newly released debut album "Sparks Fly" to an invitation-only crowd of 300 in Plano, Texas.  Suzy Herzog and her eight-year-old daughter, Maddy, won the performance for themselves and their friends through the Quaker Chewy and Afterschool Alliance contest.

Alan Peppard from the Dallas Morning News attended the event, interviewed Miranda and captured images and video footage

  • On Thursday March 11, Quaker® Oats, Miranda Cosgrove, Harlem RBI and the Afterschool Alliance kicked off the Quaker Chewy "Afterschool Rocks" campaign in New York City.  Miranda enjoyed a special dance performance and chatted with the excited kids at Harlem RBI.

The ‘iCarly’ star made an appearance on the TODAY Show, and the event was featured by bloggers Audrey, a Mom Correspondent from Mom Generation and Isabel from Alpha Mom.

Working in partnership with the Afterschool Alliance, Quaker will be helping to promote healthy lifestyles, proper nutrition and physical activity for kids participating in afterschool programs across the country.

Today, more than 15 million children across America take care of themselves after the school day ends.  Now more than ever, parents are looking for ways to keep their children active and safe after school, but many simply lack access to a quality, affordable program.

Stay tuned for more details about the Afterschool Alliance’s work with Quaker Oats, and how you can get involved.
