Torani Raspberry Syrup is sporting a new, limited-edition art label designed by nine-year-old budding artist Julia Grzep from the Young Rembrandts Greater-Cleveland West afterschool program. For a sixth year in a row, Torani has held a national competition to find artwork from an afterschool participant to display on Torani Syrups limited-edition beverage labels. Julia's artwork was chosen from hundreds of entries submitted by afterschool students from around the country. One year for Christmas, my mom let me pick what I wanted as a gift. I hadn't had art in school since 2nd grade and I really love to draw so I chose an afterschool art program called Young Rembrandts. If I wasn't at the Young Rembrandts afterschool program I would probably be at home reading and not making art. But at my afterschool program I get to draw and be with the teachers, who are really nice. The drawing that I did for the Torani Art Program was of my favorite animal: a giraffe in the forest. When I was in kindergarten, my teacher's favorite animal was a giraffe and I started liking them too. I am lucky to go to the Young Rembrants afterschool program. I want everyone to know that at the program they are really nice and really good at teaching how to draw. But I know that not everyone has a place to go afterschool. I know kids in my school who are not in afterschool programs. And they are probably at home playing video games or watching TV. |
