Funding from Supplemental Education Services - State Info

Alabama

The Alabama Department of Education has posted a Request for Proposals to select providers of supplemental educational services to be included on the Alabama's approved list of supplemental educational services providers. Applications are due January 26, 2004. The state-approved list will be updated at least annually and more frequently, if needed. Each year there will be an opportunity for new providers to demonstrate that their services meet the requirements.

Alaska

The Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (EED) has posted a request for applications to select providers of supplemental services that will be included on the state list. The application process will be open continuously and reviewed periodically. EED particularly encourages applications from Alaska regional and community-based entities who are familiar with the parents and students to be served and who have the capacity to provide services on a face-to-face basis.

The Colorado Department of Education has released a Request for Proposals to select providers of Title I supplemental services that will be included on the state list. Applications are due March 8, 2004. Training on the application process will be provided January 23rd at the Colorado Association of School Boards. Illinois

The Illinois State Board of Education, Accountability Division issued an application for supplemental service providers. Beginning June 2003, SES applications in Illinois may be submitted anytime. The intent of the open application process is to promote a maximum number of providers by eliminating the possiblity of missing the deadline for submission. The Massachusetts State Department of Education has released their Request for Response for potential supplemental service providers. The Mississippi State Department of Education, Office of Innovative Support has released the timeline for the next round of applications for supplemental educational service providers. The RFP will be issued and placed on the web on January 15, 2004. There will be a Technical assistance session at the Mississippi Department of Education Auditorium on February 12, 2004. Proposals are due March 8, 2004.

Missouri

The State of Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has released an application for supplemental education service providers. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis but will be reviewed once a year. The deadline for the 2004 review is June 30, 2004.

The Nevada Department of Education Office of Special Education and Diversity Programs has posted a request for applications for Title I Supplemental Educational Service Providers. Proposals are due March 1, 2004. In order for the Nevada Department of Education to properly plan for the review of all Supplemental Services applications it is necessary for them to have preliminary notification of your plans to apply. New Hampshire

The NH Department of Education has developed an application form by which they will identify individuals and both private and public organizations that qualify to provide supplemental educational services. The Department anticipates that it will offer the opportunity for all entities to apply for approval approximately every six months. New York

The State Department of Education will soon begin its next statewide application period for Supplemental Educational Services Providers. During this "Winter 2004 Application Period," applicants will be invited to submit an Application and their response to a "Request for Qualifications" (RFQ) to be reviewed by NYSED. The specific dates for the application period (i.e., the start- and end-dates) have not yet been established. In anticipation of this application period, an orientation session for potential applicants will be held in Albany at the State Education Building on January 30, 2004. The State Board of Education has issued information and application procedures on Title I supplemental service providers.
