For two consecutive years, the Afterschool Alliance has overseen the review process for the Dollar General Afterschool Literacy Award, receiving and carefully reading hundreds of applications and working closely with past award winners. Now, for the award’s third year, made possible through the generous support of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, we want to share insights and lessons we’ve gained from previous review processes with those of you who are interested in nominating a program. This includes tips on how to make your nomination form shine and common critiques from people who have been involved in the review process.
