About this webinar:

President Trump’s budget proposal for FY 2019, released in February, calls for the complete elimination of 21st Century Community Learning Center funding. These funds currently support nearly 10,000 local afterschool and summer programs serving nearly 2 million children all across the nation. The budget proposal also calls for massive cuts to a wide array of other federal funding streams that go to afterschool programs. What does this mean for your program? Your community? And, most importantly, can these budget cuts be stopped?

Join a Q&A with Afterschool Alliance VP of Policy Erik Peterson to hear the latest developments on afterschool funding and the road ahead. Learn about steps you can take now to help prevent cuts to afterschool in your state, learn about how to leverage social media to fight the cuts, and hear what one program director is doing to make sure his members of Congress see firsthand how afterschool is working for kids, families, and the community.

Speakers:

  • Erik Peterson, Vice President of Policy, Afterschool Alliance
  • Faith Savaiano, Communications Associate, Afterschool Alliance
  • Ben Rediske, SOAR Program Director, Camp War Eagle
